DUROLEN®: High-Gloss Appearance and Exceptional Impact Resistance in One Material
With DUROLEN®, 3A Composites introduces a new thermoforming material for demanding exterior and cladding components. This polypropylene-based mono-material combines properties that have traditionally required material composites: a premium high-gloss surface and exceptional impact resistance. As a result, DUROLEN® opens up new opportunities for applications where surface quality, durability, and sustainability are equally important.
The material offers excellent rigidity, outstanding chemical resistance, and long-term UV stability. At the same time, its low density provides weight-saving advantages compared to many established solutions. Combined with efficient processing characteristics and short cycle times, DUROLEN® is well suited for cost-effective thermoforming operations.
A key advantage lies in its mono-material concept. Unlike multi-layer or composite solutions, DUROLEN® can be more easily integrated into existing recycling streams. In addition, production scrap can be returned directly to the material cycle, supporting more resource-efficient and future-oriented product designs.
DUROLEN® has been specifically developed for large thermoformed exterior components used in agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles, and caravans. With virtually unlimited colour matching options, the material enables both functional and design-driven applications while meeting demanding performance requirements.
